About the Helios Chapter in Clearwater, Florida
by Fran Glaros

2003 chapter officers:

President: Charlotte (Pardos) Crockett
Vice President: Stanley Pardos
Assistant Vice President: Argie Glaros
Secretary: Anna Tripodis
Correspondening Secretary: Fran Glaros
Treasurer: Ann Andreson

Included in our membership is our own National Pres. Stanton Tripodis, Dist. Gov. Gus Tsambis., PNP Dr. Nicholas H. Batuyios, PNP, John Sakoutis, PNP, Gus Stefanadis, as well as our own Stella Thomas, who is the editor of our national Ikarian Magazine.

We continue to have our monthly dinners after our meetings, with 95% of the dinners being donated and cooked by our members. The sponsors don't always do the cooking, but in our chapter, we are blessed with many good cooks, so that's not a problem. Among our cooks, are Mary Tsambis, Nick Plutis, Argie Pastis, Joanne Proios, Gus Stefanadis, Tony Mavronicolas, as well as several others we can depend on when the above mentioned are not available.

Our annual dinner dance which is held in late January was a great success this year. The chairmen for this year and for 2004 are none other than our N/P Stanton Tripodis and his lovely wife Anna. Our ticket chair person was Sonja Stefanadis and helper Kathryn Athanasiadis.

We had a wonderful Christmas party for our children, complete with Santa (Steve Binikos). We also had a wonderful Easter Egg hunt for the children, also arranged by Amy (Petchakos) Hall complete with hall decorations. WE MUST REMEMBER THE CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE OF THIS ORGANIZATION AND WE NEED TO INCLUDE THEM, WHEN WE PLAN FOR OUR YEARLY ACTIVITIES. I (Fran Glaros) continue to try to keep our members informed of our chapter activities, with our monthly newsletters. Husband George did the Greek history, until his death this past year. I still try to include some, but not like he used to do. But no one else can fill another's shoes, as they say. I truly miss him, each and every day.
