The Icarian colony of southern California began after World War II when Icarians migrated from eastern states to a few suburbs east of Los Angeles. A large percentage of Icarians still live in the suburbs of Alhambra, Arcadia, South Pasadena, San Marino, and San Gabriel.

Dear Fellow Members,

Many happy greetings to you as we look forward to summer! Our next meeting will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2005 from 3-5 p.m. It will be held at our Vice President's townhome recreational center in Glendale. The directions are included at the bottom of this message. We encourage everyone to attend this meeting because we will elect our Convention delegates and alternates and take our club picture for the 2005 Convention album.

We would like to extend the opportunity to all our members to update us with their happy occasions, such as, wedding, birth, and graduation announcements. Our submission to the Ikaria magazine is due by June 1st, so please call our President by May 30th with your announcements. If you are able to email pictures, those would be appreciated as well. Maria can be reached at

Also, please save the date now, our annual Agia Marina Picnic will be Saturday, July 16th at Tournament Park on the Caltech campus in Pasadena.

Lastly, we would like to encourage those who have not renewed their membership for 2005, to do so as soon as possible. Adult membership is $25 and $15 for students.
