Dear Fellow Icarians and Friends:

Greetings from the Big Apple! As the summer approaches, we draw closer to the 97th Annual Pan-Icarian Convention. The New York Chapter, Pandiki No.5, has been work­ing very hard to prepare for your long awaited visit to this great City.

The con­vention will be held at the Hilton New York Hotel, located in the heart of the City. This hotel is known for its extravagance, luxury and great service. We have enclosed a reservation form for the convention weekend. These rates will be in effect from August 30 - September 4, 2001.

We have also enclosed a reservation card for the Grand Banquet, which will be held on the evening of Sunday, September 2, 2001. Since the hotel policy requires us to inform them of the number of Sunday night din­ners in advance, we would appreciate that you return your dinner reservations to us as soon as possible.

Please remember to send in your journal ads for the convention album. If you would like a contract, please contact Paul Kochilas at (718) 457-1035. We hope to receive your ads in order to create a successful convention album.

Finally, we hope that you won’t miss the exciting New York cruise and other tours we have planned for you. The cruise, circling Manhattan, will enable you to experience this impressive city by water. The social activities committee has enclosed a letter, describing this and other events in greater detail. Since we can only accommodate a limited number of people, send in your reservations as soon as possible to ensure your place on the tour(s).

We look forward to meeting you on Labor Day Weekend. Make plans now to attend the convention as we promise to make this an unforgettable weekend.
