It is with great sadness that I share the passing of longtime Chapter Icaros member Franzee “Frank” Barlamas. Below is the obituary with service details, for those interested. May his memory be eternal.
Franzee “Frank” Barlamas, 86, of Ambridge, PA, went to be with his lord and savior on Wednesday March 10, 2021, at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born June 19, 1934, in Ambridge, he was the son ofthe late Alexander and Constance Tsacalis Barlamas. Frank was a self-employedbusinessman, who was the past owner of Economy Painting Co., Atlas Beverage Co.,Barlamas Luncheonette, Willow’s Pool Club, Viores Candies, Franzee/Javy’s Banquet Halls, and Johnny’s Sandwich Shop.
He was an active member of Holy Trinity GreekOrthodox Church, past recipient of the St. Photios Diocesan Service Award, Beaver Valley AHEPA, Ambridge GAPA, 50 year member of Ambridge Masonic Lodge #701, and Chapter Icaros #7. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Constance Viores Barlamas; his children, Alex and Diana Barlamas of Harmony Twp., Yvonne Barlamas of Ambridge, John and Leanna Barlamas of Conway, and Vasilia and Shawn Gradek of Harmony Twp.; his seven grandchildren, Constance, Georgia, Franzee, Costa, Joanne, Alexsia and Adam; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Katherine Barlamas of Harmony Twp.; and manynieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Konstantin “Kosta” Barlamas.
Friends will be received on Sunday March 14, 2021 from 1:00-8:00pm at Franzee’s Banquet Hall, 1300 Merchant Street, Ambridge, PA. Additional viewing will be held Monday March 15, 2021 from 9:00am until time of Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge, PA, with Fr. Anastasios Athanasiou officiating.
Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery. Bohn-Matich Funeral & Cremation Services,1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, PA is in charge of arrangements. Ambridge Masonic Lodge #701 will conduct a service on Sunday at 2:30pm. Beaver Valley AHEPA will conduct a service on Sunday at 4:30pm. A Trisagion Service will be held on Sunday at 7:00pm.
